G’day from down under. We have been in Perth, Australia just over a month and have just set up a blog.

We left the UK from Birmingham Airport.

Friday 21^st October 2011

Arrived at our hotel in Dubai at around lunch time a bit hungry, we decided to stuff ourselves at the all you can eat buffet, it was a good four hour session munching our way through Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Italian food. We wobbled our way up to our room for a rest! That evening we ventured down to the hotel sports bar and had a couple of buckets of Corona while watching prostitutes pick up clients – which was very amusing.

Saturday 22^nd October 2011

We took the metro and explored the Dubai Mall. It has the world’s largest dancing fountain (which wasn’t on), the world’s largest indoor aquarium with 400 sharks and the world’s tallest building. It’s just huge! All that shopping can make you a little hungry though so that evening we decided to venture out into old Dubai to the Afghan Kebab House (recommended by Lonely Planet) for meat and pitta which was yummy!
